What is RoofSnap?
RoofSnap is a web-based roof measurement tool at roofsnap.io. It uses Google Solar building insights and satellite data to estimate roof geometry for roofing takeoffs and project planning.
How much does a report cost?
A roof report costs $6.99 USD. No subscription is required. The fee is for a measurement report, not an inspection, construction estimate or installation service.
What measurements are included?
Report data includes roof surface area, plane pitch and azimuth, and roof edge measurements. Refined roof outlines and internal lines depend on the available building-mask and elevation data. Review the results for the property before relying on them.
Who is it for?
Roofing contractors, solar installers, insurance adjusters and homeowners can use the measurements for planning. RoofSnap does not provide engineering certification, insurance-claim approval or a roof-condition inspection.
Where does it work?
Address search is for US properties. Measurements depend on Google Solar coverage for the selected building. Tri-Cities and Spokane pages explain the regional workflow, but there is no guarantee of data for every address.
Can buyers download their own PDFs?
Yes. Buyers sign in, open My reports, and view or download reports associated with their own purchases. They do not need admin access.
Can I review unusual roof facets?
Yes. RoofSnap flags some low-confidence facets and offers keep, remove and snap-to-dominant-pitch actions. Automatic artifact exclusion starts on. Optional area calibration starts off. Review any excluded or adjusted sections before finalizing quantities.
Is there a guaranteed accuracy percentage?
No universal accuracy percentage is promised here. Results vary with imagery, roof complexity, changes to the property and interpretation of roof planes. Verify uncertain dimensions and current conditions before a final bid or material order.
Is the imagery live?
No. Satellite datasets may predate additions or roof changes. Confirm that the pictured building represents the current property.
Does a report replace a site inspection?
No. Concealed decking, roofing layers, leaks, installation quality and some flashing details cannot be established from satellite geometry. Site verification and applicable manufacturer and jurisdiction requirements remain necessary.
