Roof takeoffs for Eastern Washington contractors

For an Eastern Washington roof takeoff, confirm the property and imagery coverage, review roof surface area and edge lengths, add product-specific waste, and verify site conditions and local requirements before issuing a final estimate.

Start with the property, not a regional assumption

RoofSnap can look up addresses in Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, West Richland and other Eastern Washington communities where Google Solar data is available. Confirm coverage for the actual address; city-level availability does not guarantee every building.

Check detached garages, additions and outbuildings individually. A project in Benton County or Franklin County may contain several roof surfaces that should not automatically be included in the same scope.

Build a clear quantity worksheet

Record measured surface area, plane pitches, eaves, rakes, ridges, hips and valleys. Keep waste and product coverage as separate inputs. Note which structures and roof sections are included in the proposal.

Use the material calculator to compare quantities, then update the worksheet with the supplier’s current product coverage and prices. RoofSnap’s $6.99 report price is a measurement-report fee, not a local roof-replacement price.

Verify requirements with the right jurisdiction

Permit, ventilation, underlayment, fastening and other installation requirements depend on the project, product and governing authority. Consult the applicable city or county building department and manufacturer instructions.

Do not infer a wind rating, required nailing pattern or ice-barrier specification from a satellite report. Roof geometry helps estimate quantities; it does not determine the project’s code compliance.

Close the loop with the customer

Explain which quantities came from the satellite measurement and which costs depend on the site visit. Confirm roof layers, access, disposal, flashing and possible decking repairs before finalizing the scope.

After buying a report, sign in to My reports to retrieve your own PDFs. Use the measurement document alongside the written scope rather than presenting it as proof of roof condition.
